Symbioses is the first graduate philosophy conference at Duquesne University, at least in the recent past. It is our hope that this will become an annual event here at Duquesne as we continue to pursue new ways to nurture and promote the study of continental philosophy. This one day conference is co-sponsored by the Duquesne Philosophy Department, the Graduate Students in Philosophy (GSIP) organization, the Simon Silverman Phenomenology Center, and the Dean of the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts.
The conference will feature 12 papers presented by graduate students from a host of top universiites and will conclude with a keynote presentation by Dr. Gregg Lambert of Syracuse University. Dr. Lambert is the author of the new work Who’s Afraid of Deleuze and Guattari? (2006), as well as, The Return of the Baroque in Modern Culture (2005), and The Non-Philosophy of Gilles Deleuze (2002), all available from Continuum Books.
Please view the preliminary conference schedule, and stay tuned as other information will be available soon.
